ManAung

My name is ManAung Shikhun. My pronoun is he/him. Straight Male. I’m from Myanmar, I’m from a tribe called Rvwang, which is also part of a group called kachin. I’m an artist, graphic designer, golfer, athlete, and student.

I make digital painting, character drawing, fan art, portraits, logos, posters, t-shirt design, stickers, flyers, pencil sketches, graphic design and traditional painting. I use photoshop and procreate for digital drawings. I use pencil, pen, ink, watercolor, acrylic and charcoal. I use adobe illustrator, adobe in design for graphic designs. I create so that I can build this part of my brain that creates. I believe that creating is a very important skill in life, jobs, entrepreneurship, and more. I create so that I can inspire, help, awe, and surprise others. I create because it’s fun, engaging, and relaxing. I have a talent with art so I want to use that lemon to make lemonade.

I have a lot that inspires me, probably around 50-200 artists that blow me away: Tahraat, Jocelin carmes, Illusion.7 (from instagram), Jennifer Wuestling Velasco, John Patrick Ganas, Sang Soo Jeong, Kim Jung gi, Marc brunet, Ahmed Aldoori, Yoneymai, Liam Kochakji, Kevin Eric Raymundo, _spec (instagram@).

I have tried using a technique in procreate to help with coloring. Which is using overlay to help set a mood easily. I want to learn more about color theory and character design.

The jester's court
by London

My name is London L. and I am an artist, born and raised in Oregon. I identify as genderfluid; for me, I don’t care what you refer to me as. For nerds like me, I am an INFP 4w5 and a leo.

I usually create characters and storylines. I use traditional art mediums typically, but I have been experimenting with digital art. I also enjoy writing about said created characters. I also draw stuff from existing media as well.

I tend to gravitate towards just pencil and paper. I rarely use color in my work when it is not digital. When I make digital art, I use a computer with a drawing tablet or a mobile device. For skills, I use my creativity the most and for fleshing out characters, I use my knowledge on personality types.

I want to inspire others and myself. I also find that if you are creative enough, money can build up from that if people buy your product. I want people to theorize over the meaning of my art. With my characters, I want people to relate and think of them as friends or people in the real world.

I would say my biggest inspiration is my best friend Silas. I envy his use of color the most. I also find my other friends and family super inspiring too. Additionally, I follow tons of artists on social media and hope to be as good as them.

I was able to try speaking and warming up to people I didn’t know. I was able to experiment with my drawing skills, especially when making the poster for the showcase. I finally drew full body characters in a way that was interesting and fun. I think the class is amazing if you want to get a headstart on branding your art, and to just have a great time.

I want to learn more about making memorable characters, I also want to learn how to develop a strong art style.
